Interview with Sandra:

1. Can you please describe a brief background about yourself as a mortgage agent?

I’ve been working as a mortgage agent helping clients navigate one of the biggest financial decisions of their lives. I focus on making the process feel simple and stress-free, whether someone is buying their first home, renewing, or refinancing. A big part of my approach is education—making sure my clients understand their options so they can make confident decisions.

2. Can you please list an overview of your work and achievements?

Over the years, I’ve built my business primarily through referrals, which I’m really proud of because it means people trust me enough to recommend me to friends and family. I’ve helped a wide range of clients—from first-time buyers to seasoned investors—and I’ve been able to structure financing solutions that truly fit their goals. My biggest achievement is the long-term relationships I’ve built with clients who come back to me time and time again.

3. What inspired you to become a mortgage agent?

I’ve always enjoyed working closely with people and helping them reach important milestones. Getting into mortgages felt like a natural fit because it combines both relationship-building and problem-solving. I love being part of such an exciting time in someone’s life and knowing I can make the process smoother for them.

4. Did you have early influences or mentors in the industry?

Yes, I was fortunate to be surrounded by experienced professionals early on who emphasized integrity, transparency, and putting the client first. That guidance really shaped how I run my business today.

5. Are there specific styles or licensing levels you gravitate toward? Why?

I focus on a client-first, solution-based approach rather than a one-size-fits-all style. Every client’s situation is different, so I like to tailor strategies—whether it’s finding the right lender, structuring payments, or planning for future goals. That flexibility is what allows me to really add value.

6. What are some of the biggest challenges you face as a mortgage agent?

One of the biggest challenges is navigating constantly changing interest rates and guidelines while keeping clients informed without overwhelming them. The market can shift quickly, so staying educated and adaptable is key. Another challenge is helping clients cut through all the noise and misinformation out there.

7. What tools/gear do you currently use for work and why?

I rely heavily on mortgage software, lender portals, and communication tools to keep everything running smoothly. But honestly, my most important “tool” is communication—whether that’s phone calls, emails, or meetings. Being accessible and responsive makes a huge difference in my clients’ experience.

8. Have you worked in a show or at a convention, etc.? If so, what was that experience like?

I’ve participated in industry events and networking functions, which are always a great opportunity to stay up to date on market trends and connect with other professionals. It’s also a reminder of how important strong relationships are in this business.

9. What advice would you give to aspiring agents looking to make a career out of it?

Focus on building relationships, not just transactions. Be patient, stay consistent, and always put your clients’ best interests first. It’s also important to keep learning—this industry changes quickly, and the more knowledgeable you are, the more value you can provide.

10. Can you share a quote or mantra that inspires you in your work?

“People won’t always remember the numbers, but they will remember how you made them feel.”
